Near Lake Tahoe There's a Bear So Tough, Bullets Bounce Off His Head


In hot pursuit of a notorious burglar along the shores of Lake Tahoe this year, Carl Lackey organized a night patrol to catch the perp. His tools included a fire extinguisher, pepper spray and two dogs that respond only to commands in Russian.

My very short-lived Portland Timbers career

I’ve always admired the Portland Timbers organization, as they impress me with their desire to be an integral part of the soccer community. One of the programs they started last season was a Fantasy camp, giving fans of every skill level the chance to play on the same pitch with their idols.

Clint Dempsey, the fourth of five born to a family of humble means in the small east Texas town of Nacogdoches, is the key to American success in the world’s game.
